Button Realms is a VR strategy game where you help the villagers, all called Billy, to defend their island against intruders who will arrive by boat. You can use all different kind of resources from the island to defeat them, like maybe you always have wanted to be a baseball player.. just simply pick up an enemy, grab one of the trees and see if you can hit a home run.
While fending off several waves of enemies, the Billys will be very thankful if you repair their buildings and even grow their village by building new defensive structures.

This game was initially pitched by our client, Nefarious Games, however it has changed a lot upon the point that it is not recognizable from the original idea anymore. This resulted in creating this as our own IP half way the project.
My contributions
As a 3D artist, I joined this project to challenge myself to specialize in Environment Art. This gave me the responsibility over modelling most of the different buildings, which where designed by our 2D concept artist. As I got several 2d side views to work with, I often had to add some details myself to complete the 3D model.
During this project I worked mainly in Maya to get all models done, since they weren't modular it did not require any work in Unreal.
In the last month of the project, I have also helped in Unreal with some smaller tasks, concerning materials, LoDs and some small VFXs.
This project was the first one were I had to work together with more people than I was used to before. Normally we would be working in groups of 10 people, but this time there were over 30+ people. Instead of working together with one or two other artists, I learned to work in a small art team, where more planning and communicating was required.
